Mayfield & Co. is a firm of Chartered Accountants and tax advisors with offices in Leicester and Market Harborough.

The practice was established in 1993 by David Mayfield, who remains as the senior partner today. Andrew Downes joined as partner in 2002 and Tom Mayfield became partner in 2014.

Mayfield & Co. has grown significantly since 1993 and now has a portfolio more than 1,500 clients.

We acquired the business of Barber-Wynn in 2004 and DJ Kent & Co. in 2006 and continue to go from strength to strength, providing first class advice in all areas of business, accounts and taxation. In 2015 Mayfield & Co. acquired King Freeman Accountants of Leicester. Two of King Freeman’s partners, James Sibley and Graham King are still working with us today and continue to support many of our clients. As well as James and Graham we are delighted to have many of the original King Freeman team who provide us with invaluable experience and client service.

Mayfield & Co. has developed a great reputation for the quality of its service and advice and for the proactive manner in which we approach the complexities that arise in our clients’ businesses.

We have many clients in the local community but also have a range of clients in many other counties as we are not constrained by geographical boundaries.

An important element of the business relationships we build concerns the value we place in our staff.

Our philosophy involves employing quality, driven, and experienced staff, with all our managers qualified to deal with the complexities of our clients’ arrangements and maintain a great understanding for our clients’ needs. All our staff have a range of specific individual skills which we are able to call on in the services and advice we provide.

Once you have recruited quality staff the emphasis moves to retaining those staff, which our track record shows we have achieved.

Although our firm has grown significantly over the years, we feel it vitally important for the partners and senior managers within our practice to retain a close relationship and involvement with our clients.

Our firm has overseen the training and development of a number of staff from junior to qualified accountant. We are an ACA and ACCA qualified training firm and currently have a number of staff who are in the process of gaining their qualification with the ICAEW. We are also constantly striving to further develop our staff with regular training courses in accountancy, audit and tax as well as the development of the increasingly relied upon world of IT.
