David is still firmly involved in the day to day running of the firm and that of his clients. David’s relationship with his clients and expertise in all areas of accountancy and taxation have been a key factor in driving the firm forward and the underlying force in which the firm is built on today.
David has invaluable experience in most areas of accountancy and tax for individuals, small and medium sized companies and LLP’s. David particularly specialises in tax related advice and planning including inheritance tax, income tax, capital gains tax and corporation tax.
I was born in 1956, lived in Leicestershire since 1970. I undertook Articles with a large local practice and also spent some time training with an international practice.
I qualified in 1983 as a chartered accountant and commenced working for a three partner local practice acting mainly for small owner managed businesses. I became an equity partner in 1987 of what had become a six partner practice, performing the role of tax and special situations partner. I became a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1993 and a member of the Tax Faculty.
I started Mayfield & Co in 1993 with my own clients from the former practice.
I am married with five children, four have graduated from university and one at school.
Pastimes include golf, captain of Kirby Muxloe Golf Club in 2003, currently council member and trustee. I played amateur county golf for Leicestershire representing the county on over 100 occasions. I was county second team captain and selector for four years in the 1980’s. I became county union treasurer in 1989 to 1997. I am currently a county union honorary Vice President.
Other pastimes include walking the dog, relaxing, holidays and fine wine and food.
